As it is pretty much the beginning of the month, I felt it would be great to give you 5 holistic habits you can add to your daily routine to help you live a happier, healthier life. Here are some of the things you can do to achieve this!
Habit One- Drink Chamomile Tea For Relaxation And Stress Relief.
Chamomile is an amazing, ancient herb that needs more credit. Chamomile flowers contain naturally high levels of the powerful anti-oxidants terpenoids and flavonoids, that have a whole host of benefits such as its ability to fight anxiety and depression, Anti-inflammatory properties great for reducing bloating and tension, muscle spasms treatment which aids in relaxation, a natural remedy for PMS and other menstrual disorders, it helps cure insomnia as it helps you sleep better and can even improve skin disorders like acne! Habit Two- Start Dry Body Brushing
Dry body brushing is an amazing natural remedy for so many skin conditions. Dry brushing the body each morning and night improves circulation which in turn can help reduce the appearance of cellulite. It also helps shed dead skin cells for healthy, glowing skin and can also improve muscle tone and helps you deposit fat more evenly. Give it a go! It is so invigorating and amazing!
Habit Three- Use Lavender Epsom Salt In Your Bath To Relieve Headaches (Use As A Scrub If You Do Not Own A Bath)
When sprinkled in the bath, the magnesium in Epsom salt not only relaxes muscles, but it helps relieve headaches/migraines as often those who suffer migraines have low levels of magnesium. The lavender in the salts are not there just to make it smell nice! Lavender is an incredible plant and has a whole host of benefits, including headache relief.
Habit Four- Use Apple Cider Vinegar For Gorgeous, Long, Shiny Hair
Apple Cider Vinegar is a miracle treatment for dull looking hair. It removes product buildup, makes hair super-shiny and promotes growth. Mix a 1/4 cup of vinegar with 16 ounces of water and pour over the hair after shampooing. Massage the scalp and leave in for three minutes and then rinse out. Follow with your favourite conditioner and enjoy the benefits!
Habit Five- Add Chia/Flax/Hemp Seed To Your Breakfast Each Morning For A Healthy Start To The Day
Chia, Flax and Hemp seeds have amazing health and beauty benefits. Two tablespoons of flaxseed contain 4 grams of fiber and also omega-3 alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), and 300 milligrams of a particular type of antioxidant called lignans. Both ALA and lignans are anti-inflammatory, and lignans may also help lower cholesterol levels. Chia seeds help ease digestion and two tablespoons a day contain 10 grams of fibre! Hemp is probably the most wondrous as all as it is very high in protein (great for us veggies and vegans) but it also contains ALL of the amino acids! I love porridge and fruit for breakfast as it keeps me going for the day and when I add these seeds, it creates one heck of a super-food bowl!
